Women’s networks assist with career development
Women’s networks across the Group help women progress their careers. For example, the Elsevier Women’s Network in 2014 held events covering team development and emotional intelligence, innovation, gender-balanced leadership, work-life balance, and managing stress and complexity. They also held networking workshops and engaged in community outreach.
The LexisNexis Legal & Professional UK Women Connected group held Careers Demystified Lunch and Learn sessions with a range of presenters, including one by Kumsal Bayazit, RELX Group Chief Strategy Officer, who shared her thoughts on finding mentors and sponsors, being a good mentee, using your network to find career opportunities and make new connections. Members also undertook interview mentoring with charity, SmartWorks, to help low income women seeking employment find work.
