MIPCOM is the leading international television and digital content exhibition, conference and networking event. Launched in 1985, it is the autumn equivalent of MIPTV, its spring counterpart.

October 13-16, 2014, MIPCOM celebrated its 30th anniversary, welcoming a record 13,700 delegates from 113 countries, including 4,600 buyers to Cannes, France. The record attendance reflected the increase in the number of international television broadcasters and online content carriers coupled with the internationalization of the content production community.

A stellar keynote lineup, matching the diversity of major entertainment companies present at MIPCOM, included James Murdoch, Co-Chief Operating Officer 21st Century Fox, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer ,Ted Sarandos, Chinese internet entrepreneur and Sohu.com CEO, Charles Zhang and MIPCOM Personality of the Year, Simon Cowell.

An increasing number of international distributors use MIPCOM as their main sales push for new shows. In order to create ‘buzz’ around those shows the distributors bring talent to Cannes. 2014 saw the likes of Donald Sutherland, Matt Dillon, Cuba Gooding Jr, Night Shyamalan and Elizabeth Hurley meeting with potential buyers and media throughout MIPCOM.
