Scientific, Technical & Medical
For the benefit of healthcare professionals, medical researchers and the public, Elsevier, a global information analytics business specialising in science and health, has created a Novel Coronavirus Center with the latest medical and scientific information on Covid-19. The center has been set up since the start of the outbreak and is in English and Mandarin. Researchers can find the latest early-stage and peer-reviewed research on Covid-19 from journals including The Lancet and Cell Press.
Elsevier has provided full access to this content for PubMed Central, the archive of biomedical and lifescience in the US, and other public health databases, to accelerate the fight against coronavirus for as long as needed.
In April, Elsevier launched a new resource to aid healthcare workers on the front lines of managing the novel coronavirus health crisis. The Covid-19 Healthcare Hub provides free access to toolkits, expert insights, research resources and Covid-19 guidelines. The Hub’s toolkits include evidence-based clinical overviews, drug monographs, care plans, order sets, and procedure videos for clinicians delivering care and information to patients. Clinicians will also find the latest information and guidelines from government health agencies, medical societies and public health organizations for diagnosis, testing and treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Institutional access to medical and nursing ClinicalKey Student platforms is being offered, at no cost.

To support and inform all those who are working tirelessly to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in the research, high education and health communities, a variety of resources have been made freely available and are aggregated here. This includes all Elsevier-published research on Covid-19 and related viruses, reference works and encyclopedias (over 20,000 pieces of content), as well as artificial intelligence-enabled text and data mining, healthcare information, textbooks and remote access.
Risk
In partnership with Florida Atlantic University and National Science Foundation, LexisNexis Risk Solution’s Global Covid-19 Spread Tracking Project provides researchers and academics who are at the forefront of Covid-19 fight with a customizable dashboard that analyzes open sourced data assets from Johns Hopkins University, The Atlantic’s Covid Tracking Project and other open data sources. The dashboard is available to the public, including those who are actively working to help society either in the U.S. or around the globe.
To support the United States’ health response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the LexisNexis Risk Solutions healthcare team created the Covid-19 resource centre, an interactive visualisation tool that provides insights on at-risk populations and care capacity challenges. These resources help healthcare, public health and policy leaders make important decisions about at-risk populations and care resources to enable the best possible outcomes.
Cirium, which brings together aviation and air travel data and analytics, has created a data visualisation on the impact of the virus on the aviation industry and is tracking the latest in-storage fleet and utilization figures on a daily basis. ICIS, an independent intelligence and services provider for global petrochemical and energy markets, is providing expert insight and analysis on the impact coronavirus is having on energy and chemical markets.
XpertHR, a compliance and benchmarking business driving global HR topics from pay equality to compliance and HR policies, is providing guidance to employers on compliance with legal changes and practical measures that they can take during the coronavirus crisis, including new guidance on how to consider alternatives to redundancy. Legal
LexisNexis Legal & Professional, a leading provider of legal information and analytics, recently launched free and comprehensive legal news coverage and practical guidance content to help legal professionals, lawmakers and business leaders become better informed and navigate the legal issues and intricacies surrounding Covid-19. Information can be found on Law360 and LexisPractice Advisor.
Nexis Newsdesk™ is offering a global media and news tracker with interactive charts on the way coronavirus is developing across the global media landscape in real time.
LexisNexis® State Net® tracks US state and federal government activity related to coronavirus, including pending bills, new regulations, and executive orders, and offers complimentary 50-state daily reports.
The Lawyer’s Daily is offering free coverage on Covid-19, including news, analysis, opinion and Insider items.
The Global Covid-19 Resources hub highlights all the curated news, emerging legislative issues and research materials to stay on top of changes related to Covid-19 and the law.
As part of its mission to bring openness and transparency to the law, Lex Machina is exploring the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus on litigation activity in federal district court. A summary of findings and possible explanations can be found here.
Exhibitions
Reed Exhibitions has collaborated with the City of Vienna, Austria, to transform an exhibition venue in central Vienna into a functional hospital, to provide greater medical care to those in need with the help of contacts, suppliers and in-house support. With 880 beds completed over the weekend, just five days after beginning the project, the final capacity is expected to reach 3,111 beds once complete – see the redesigned space here.
IBTM World, the leading global event for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry, has created an online resource hub, IBTM Connect, for event professionals to keep connected during Covid-19.
Corporate responsibility
A podcast series has been introduced on the RELX SDG Resource Centre exploring the Sustainable Development Goals impact of Covid-19.
